The Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors took the following actions at their meeting on Wednesday, April 25.
The board reviewed their March financial report, showing a profit of $164,100, slightly above budget for the month, and bringing their six-month profit to $939,600. Some highlights for the first half of their 2007 fiscal year were a 21 percent increase in hospital days; a 14 percent increase in swing bed days; a 10 percent increase in outpatient revenue (though this was slightly below budget expectations); and a five percent increase in clinic visits.
The board also reviewed its cash flow budget for 2007, which is also healthy. With the projected income and a $200,000 low-interest loan from Spicer EDA for a new clinic in Spicer, which is expected to cost $575,000, the hospital district expects to handle its capital purchases of $1.85 million and still invest $1 million in reserves this year.
The board approved the provisional period completion for Orleen Hoffman, M.D., and her appointment to the consulting staff.
