The Paynesville Area Health Care System uses the state-of-the-art ultrasound system ATL 5000. We have a highly qualified staff with many years of experience and they are registered as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure where we use sound waves to create an image. The most familiar procedure being performed by ultrasound is for obstetrics, where we evaluate the unborn baby. With the advancement in ultrasound over the past 5 to 10 years, ultrasound is being used in many other areas such as : abdominal, pelvic, vascular, thyroid, breast, scrotum, and extremities. The most recent procedure we are able to offer is echocardiogram, an ultrasound of the heart. Very few small rural hospitals are able to bring this high tech procedure to the patients on a daily basis and at Paynesville Area Health Care System, we are pleased to offer this service to our patients. |
