Mary Ellen grew up in New York City and has spent much of her live on the east coast, as well as traveling across the United States. After she received her nursing degree and was married, she traveled with her husband when his career took him to many different parts of the US. Mary Ellen was an RN for many years and 20 years ago she received her Masters Degree in Health Care Administration which gives her a blend of nursing and business experiences. She worked for United Health Care for 20 years in many different levels of managed care, everything from quality to product development. During that same time, she also worked for the Presbyterian Homes in their Dementia Care.

Mary Ellen has called Minnesota her home for many years, although only one of her sons lives in state. Her other son lives in Phoenix, AZ and her daughter lives in Indianapolis, IN. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading and gardening. “I’m only really happy when my hands are in the dirt,” she said with a smile. Another interesting hobby Mary Ellen has is raising pure-bred Birman cats & kittens for showing for competition (which is not as exciting as a dog show according to most.)

Mary Ellen and her husband recently moved to Paynesville. She added that Koronis Manor is a very nice facility and it has a good feel for being a part of the community and an extension of the resident’s home. Welcome Mary Ellen!
