The Paynesville Area Hospital District Board of Directors took the following actions at their meeting on Tuesday, May 25.
*The board reviewed a good financial report for the month of April. PAHCS recorded a profit of $136,600 for the month, bringing its seven-month total so far this fiscal year to $734,500 in the black. This represents an improvement of more than $715,000 from last year.
Improving finances continue to help PAHCS's cash flow. PAHCS still has a $400,000 line of credit but administration hopes to end that line of credit by the end of this fiscal year.
*The board heard about legislative developments from CEO Steve Moburg. Stearns County nursing homes were given metro designation by the legislature this year, which means increased rates at the Koronis Manor. Hilltop Care Center in Watkins, also owned by PAHCS, is in Meeker County and will not be affected by this rate increase.
*The board approved two medical staff appointments: Peter Tillotson, M.D. (radiologist), to the consulting staff and Kevin Wohletz, CRNA (anesthetist), to the ancillary staff.
*The board noted that the auxiliary will hold its golf tournament on Friday, July 30, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Koronis Hills Golf Club.
