Occupational therapy is directed toward helping people function independently with everyday tasks, like dressing, eating, taking a shower, or cooking, among others. Sometimes, following illness or injury, these tasks become difficult or impossible to do.
Occupational therapy helps people to return to the highest level of independent living possible, with use of adaptive equipment or environmental adaptations as necessary.
It can also treat various hand conditions or injuries.
