"Little Ears" Program
Paynesville Area Health Care System is committed to early identification of hearing loss in the "Little Ears" born at Paynesville Area Hospital. Your baby's hearing will be screened using an Automated Auditory Brainstem Response System. The screener sends soft clicking sounds to your baby's ears through earphones. Sensors, which resemble stickers, pick up the response from your baby's brain and send it to the screener, where it is analyzed automatically and the results given. The test is completely noninvasive, not painful, and most infants sleep right through the screening. Read about one child's hearing test.
